Allah Answers Prayers

I, with my family and nieces, set out for a day at a local amusement park. As we jumped in the car, I did my routine check on Google Maps—1 hour and green. Great! Just what I thought for a sunny Saturday morning.

While driving down the highway, my wife was buying something on Amazon and I was making a hands-free phone call. I ignored the warning sign on the highway—“Delays ahead at Exit 55.” Sure enough, halfway through our trip, just before Exit 55, the highway was jammed and we had missed our last chance to take an alternate route. We were stuck. Worse yet, the traffic was at a standstill. Google Maps now estimated 1 hour and 15 minutes, and BLACK (and remember, we were already 30 minutes into the trip, so this represented a 45-minute total delay).

It was then that the kids in the car started complaining—really annoyed—as if we had let them down and didn't plan better. As I knew there was no way out, I reminded the kids that only Almighty Allah could get us there at a decent time. So, all of us started praying.

We began with Surah Fatihah, then moved on to Durood Shareef—and before we were done—we were back at 65 mph! Google Maps refresh—30 minutes and GREEN.

I felt as if the kids literally saw Almighty Allah for the first time. May Allah always keep my progeny in firm belief of their Lord, Ameen.
